White Springs Historic Guided Tour
You will be walking and standing at sites along downtown White Springs as your guide shares historic information. The total walk is less than a mile and a half.

Click Here. Currently tours are scheduled on the second Saturday and fourth Tuesday of the month. Private tours can be also scheduled at the HW store.
Meeting pointYour guide will be at the Tourism Center at the corner of US 41 and Bridge St., catty-corner from Suwannee Hardware. Please arrive up to 15 minutes before departure. There is ample parking at the Tourism Center.
Types of Tours: Unless specified all tours will start at the Tourism Center and end at the Hardware Store, lasting approximately two hours.

Discover the White Springs that grew around the famous spring and became one of Florida’s early resort destinations. Stroll along historic River and Spring Streets as local stories bring old hotels, homes, businesses, colorful residents, and the rise and fall of this once-bustling town back to life. This is the perfect introduction to White Springs - where the buildings that remain are only part of the story.
Booger Bottom & HobokonWALKING TOUR
Go beyond the familiar historic district and discover the White Springs locals remember. This walk explores Booger Bottom, Hobokon, the old Spring House area, historic neighborhoods, murals, and the Adams Country Store, weaving together the stories behind some of the town’s most intriguing names and lesser-known places. A little history, a little local lore, and a side of White Springs you won’t discover from the highway.
Beyond the Historic DistrictRIVER STREET & NORTHEAST WHITE SPRINGS • GOLF CART TOUR
Climb aboard and explore more of White Springs than you can see on foot. This guided golf cart tour travels from historic River Street into the northeastern reaches of town, with stops and stories encompassing historic homes and landmarks, local cemeteries, neighborhood history, public murals, and places that helped shape everyday life in White Springs. It’s a relaxed way to discover the town’s history beyond its best-known streets - and hear the stories you might otherwise drive right past.

At dusk, White Springs begins to tell a different kind of history. Walk the old streets as daylight fades and hear the documented history, local legends, unexplained experiences, and ghost stories that have lingered for generations - from the grand old Telford Hotel and the Adams Country Store to the spring, the river, the devastating fire of 1911, and places that have disappeared altogether.
Some stories are history. Some are firsthand accounts. Some are folklore. And some have been told so long that it’s difficult to know where one ends and another begins.

PreparationThe weather can be hot, cold, sunny, wet, and anywhere in between. You may wish to have walking/hiking shoes, an umbrella, a walking stick and/or water. Most of the tour could be enjoyed by someone using a mobility device such as a scooter or wheelchair.
Tour GuidesMany of the tours will be led by Bruce. English invader from across the pond over 40 years ago, Bruce is now retired and living in White Springs since 2017. The music (he sings shanties at festivals) and the olde world historic rural setting attracted him. A historic buff of yore with family archaeologist connections, Bruce is eager to show you what historic White Springs once had and what it proudly maintains today.
